In the middle of second wave of this pandemic, Entire world started to create Vaccination against COVID-19 from Day 1. From the beginning virus strain is continuously evolving, hence it made harder to create effective vaccination against this intruder.

Somehow, We are able to create vaccines,

Third corona vaccine is now approved in India. After giving 100 million Successful doses of Two vaccines Covishield and Covaxin. Russia’s Sputnik V gives 92% protection against Corona Virus. Now India is Aimed 250 million vaccine shots this year. but the pace of vaccination is slow, target may not hit.

so let’s know more about corona virus vaccines which are using in Indian. We need to know that 2 shots are needed in order to fulfil single vaccination.

Newest first, Sputnik V it has different second dose from other two vaccines. It’s developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute. Scientist engineered this virus into harmless framgents, when injected in body only function to produce antibodies. that is Immune system is prepared for Real Covid19 invasion. It is Store at 2 and 8C degrees (a standard fridge is roughly 3-5C degrees) easier to transport and store.

It has different second dose in term to Structural difference (Spikes). i.e. its second dose has distinct “spiked corona virus” this two different formula boost immune system to cover wide range covid protection, way better than using same strain twice. Second dose given after 21 days followed by 1st dose.

Some mild side effects are expected with bit of temperature, sore arm, tiredness.

Availability in India

Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) signed a deal to produce 750 million vaccine in India by Indian Domestic Vaccine makers. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories expecting deliver 125 million doses by this Quarter. While next quarter 6 makers going under Dr.Reddy to fulfil supplies.

Covaxin is Inactivated vaccine, ie. made by killed Viruses they were directly injected inside the body. Bharat Biotech, a 24-year-old vaccine maker with a portfolio of 16 vaccines and exports to 123 countries, used a sample of the coronavirus, isolated by India’s National Institute of Virology. Immune cells detect these killed virus and induce the production of virus antibodies.

two dose given in gap of 4 weeks. stores at 2C to 8C. vaccine is 81% effective in its third trial. Indian Regulator give permission to this vaccine in January before its third trial will ends. this put it in controversy. Bharat biotech making 700 million out of its 4 facilities by the end of the year.

Covishield

Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is making locally by Serum institute of India.(World’s largest vaccine manufacturer). Vaccine create by weakened version of a common cold virus (known as an adenovirus) from chimpanzees. they modify it and make it more look like corona virus. Thus it doesn’t harm like corona virus do.

when injected it induce immune system to produce antibodies. Two doses has been between given 4 to 12 week, storing temperature is 2C to 8C.

in terms of effectiveness “Oxford-AstraZeneca” vaccine showed that when people were given a half dose and then a full dose, effectiveness hit 90%. However, all data are unpublished some says it is 70% effective after the first dose. We also don’t have even a rough idea of First dose and second dose. Its third trial was done on United Kingdom and Brazil, Some say it never been trialed on Indian.
