Earth’s Magnetotail

You think  Moon with ancient creators, frozen lava seas. Seems to be quite immobile with no atmosphere. the footprints of our first astronaut is always seems to be remain same but do you think that without atmosphere moon is motionless you know you are wrong. Scientists believe that something happens on the moon, once in a month due to Earth’s magnetic field tail. Whenever Moon passes Magnetotail. Tim Stubbs, a University of Maryland scientist working at the Goddard Space Flight Center says “Earth’s Magnetic tail extends beyond the moon orbit and this is somehow responsible for dust storm to electrostatic discharges happening on the moon.
How it forms ?
Earth’s Magnetic is formed from the dynamo inside the Earth core. Earth is wrapped around a bubble of magnetic field. Solar wind press it and stretches it towards other side.
When will moon is in the Magnetotail ?

It’s simple when we see full moon. Moon gets in magnetotail 3 days prior to full moon and remain in for 3 days after full moon.
The photo electrons bombards towards moon lightside and much higher voltage accumulate toward dark side.

This make potential difference between both sides of the moon.

Fun Facts
Magnetotail brings negative charge on moon surface, this might makes moondust float a little. Moon dust gather itself into diaphanous wind. Dust floats from strongly negative charge dark side to weakly charged light side. This phenomenon makes dust storm at terminator. When next generation astronauts outpost for lunar exploration. They definitely research Magnetotail, too.
